Congratulations to Lauren Martin, our July Mom of the Month!
Lauren began Stroller Strides classes with her daughter, Avery, in May of last year. Lauren comes to class regularly and really makes the workouts count! She is such a strong mother, physically and emotionally. Lauren is a great friend to all and is so much fun to get to know. We love having Lauren apart of our Fit4Mom family and are continually inspired by her strength and love!
"Lauren is a genuine friend, a motivational person to workout with, and an amazing mom. She's a lot of fun to hang out with after "mom" hours as well as play dates with Avery. Both girls are full of smiles, kindness, and laughter!" - Jessica Wyatt-Smith
"Lauren was one of the first mommy friends I met after joining Fit4Mom. We have little ones about 3 weeks apart and she was truly one of the shoulders I cried on and laughed on many times during that first year. Lauren is so upbeat and kind! I feel so blessed to call her my friend!!!" - Allison Caraveo
"Lauren is the one who inspires me to get up and go. The first year of being a mom is a lot, and sometimes it just seems easier to stay in. Thankfully Lauren is there driving us to get out for our workout, planning a fun brunch, or even scheduling play dates. She's also the first one with an answer for all our "is it normal when my baby does this" questions, and her answers always seemed to ring true. I'm so grateful for meeting Lauren and know that she's one of those once in a lifetime friends! We love you Lauren!" - Brittney Farra
Tell us about you and your family.
Me and my husband met in high school and have been married 4 years. We have an 18 month old daughter, Avery, and two fur babies, Howdy and Sunni.
How did you hear about Fit4Mom Pearland and what made you start going?
During those first few lonely months, I started googling "mom and me activities" and came across Stroller Strides. My only regret is not starting sooner!
What is your favorite thing about motherhood?
The unconditional love, the belly laughs, the squeals of joy, the early morning cuddles and watching her personality bloom. I also love the newfound strength I have found in myself and the growing bond in my marriage.
What are some of your favorite things to do without kids?
Does sleeping count?
What TV show are you currently watching or book are you reading?
I am not a huge tv watcher or book reader. I could watch hgtv all day and watch Impractical Jokers if I need a good laugh but Big Bang Theory is the only series I keep up with. I was obsessed with Designated Survivor and 24, but the season is over.
What are some of your favorite Moms Night Outs and play groups?
Any and all moms night outs are my favorite, even though I haven't been able to make many due to our crazy schedule. Anything involving friends, lots of laughs and maybe a glass of wine!
My favorite play groups are the mini movers! I love watching the kids sing and dance!
What advice do you have for other moms?
Don't forget that shampoo comes in powder form and wine comes in boxes - cheers! But seriously, this is the most challenging task you will ever face, you are stronger than you think you are and you are never alone!
