Introducing our March Mom of the Month, Kimberly Wegner!
Kimberly joined Fit4Mom Pearland in 2016 with her sweet son Ben and has participated in Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre. She is very kind and welcoming to all moms that she meets, and very easy to talk to. She has been such a joy to know!
“Kimberly is so upbeat and cheerful to be around. She puts lots of effort and intensity into her workouts which motivates others around her. She is such a loving, wonderful mom to her sweet Ben and I can't wait for her new little love to arrive.”- Kim Smith
"Kim is such a fun Mom and special personality. She is welcoming to everyone she meets and goes out of her way to make others feel a part of the Fit4Mom Pearland family. During class Kim always works hard and isn't afraid to sing "loud and proud!". Class is always a little brighter with Kim!"- Katie Fenn
Tell us about you and your family.
I graduated from University of Texas with my Bachelor of Science degree. I was married in June 2006 to Bobby and we moved to Houston to start medical school (did not know how hard that was going to be). Bobby is an anesthesiologist and ICU doctor at Memorial Hermann in the med center and loves it! We had Benjamin in 2014 and are expecting a baby girl in June 2018.
How did you hear about Fit4Mom Pearland and what made you start going?
I discovered FIT4MOM while driving my son Ben (18 months old at the time) to Gymboree. I passed Southdown Park and I just had to stop. So I pulled into the parking lot and ran over to ask about the group. I love working out and had been looking for something both Ben and I could participate in together. Needless to say I started the next week and have not looked back (Ben is 3.5 years old now).
What is your favorite thing about motherhood?
My favorite thing about motherhood is being able to stay at home full time with Ben. It is the most challenging and important job I've ever had. I have never felt more loved, than when Ben runs up and gives me the biggest hug and says I love you.
What are some of your favorite things to do without kids?
Some of my favorite things to do without kids is going to concerts, dancing, and traveling around the world (one of my favorite places was Switzerland-so beautiful)!
What TV show are you currently watching or book are you reading?
I do not get to watch much tv but when I do I enjoy watching This Is Us.
What are some of your favorite Moms Night Outs and play groups?
Time with other mommies is so crucial for my sanity...I love game nights, zoo time, and any kind of food gathering to just talk about the day and connect at a deeper level with other mommas.
What advice do you have for other moms?
My advice for other moms has probably been said before: you need to laugh! Do not take things too seriously and be able to laugh at a situation or yourself. We have all had an embarrassing moment with our kid and it may seem horrific at the moment, but you will have a great story to tell later and hopefully you can get a good laugh!
Tell us something interesting about you that many of us may not know.
So something about me that people may not know: I absolutely love to travel and was a travel agent for 7 years before I became a momma. I have an identical twin sister who lives in Austin. I have been with Bobby for half my life since we were high school sweethearts (17 years), and I have been skiing/snowboarding almost every year since I was 4 years old (I love family trips...the more people, the merrier)!
Thanks so much to this group of ladies...my life would not be complete without you all!-Kimberly
