Meet our April Mom of the Month - Kelsi Tombs
I absolutely love having Kelsi and SJ in class! Kelsi always greets everyone with a smile and is checking in with the mamas around her. I have loved watching her grow in mamahood with SJ; from when he was a little baby, to know a toddling one year old. She inspires me with how gentle and patient she is with SJ. And I am also beyond excited to have her newest addition, sweet Lucy, join the crew!

I really love Kelsi and baby SJ! She’s one of the sweetest mamas and she always comes to class with a smile on her face. She loves everyone around her, and we can always count on her to welcome new moms who try out Fit4Mom for the first time! Her presence is so comforting and I always get excited when she takes one of my classes! Keep being YOU, Kelsi!

Tell us who makes up your family. Where are you from? What brought you to Pearland?
I am originally from Huffman, and I moved to Rosharon/Pearland area when I met my husband, Scott, in 2019. We have been here ever since. We have the sweetest little 17 month old son, SJ, and a daughter on the way in June! Our rescue pup, Arnie, is also a part of our family 🐶
What is your proudest mommy moment?
My proudest mommy moment would be how I’ve made it a goal for myself to get out of the house once a day from the very beginning of motherhood. Fit4Mom has helped with this, but even just going to a local park, a quick walk outside, or a class at the library helps break up the day and exposes SJ to new things and people. It’s easy to say that I just need to stay home, finish laundry, etc.; however, there will always be laundry and chores to do, but he won’t always be this little and wanting to hang out with me! This mindset has really helped me in my motherhood chapter.
What are a few of your favorite things?
I love a good beach trip, Taylor Swift, going to the movies, a patio on a nice day, audiobooks/podcasts, and going on spontaneous adventures with my family. And working out at Fit4Mom of course!
What surprised you most about motherhood? What advice would you give a new mom?
I was surprised by how much I learned on the go! I truly believe you can read every baby book out there, but there will always be something that happens that nothing could prepare you for. That was something I really had to learn when becoming a mom; as a planner and a lover of a check list, more times than not your kid will have a different plan :) My advice is to be open to learning on the go, and know that learning from your mistakes is what makes you a great mom.
What do you love about FIT4MOM? What would you say to a new mom who is thinking about coming to class?
What I love is the community of moms that has been built and continues to grow. I have new conversations with new moms every week. It’s so nice to chat about mom things, vent about the funny things our kids are up to, and bounce ideas off each other, whether it’s a diaper rash remedy or a cool new park to check out. I truly look forward to going to Fit4Mom classes every week! If you’re a new mom on the fence about coming to class, please know there is no expectation or judgement. No matter your athletic abilities, if your baby is crying, or you’re nervous about meeting new people, each mom has been in your shoes at some point and will be supportive and happy you’re there!
