Meet our August Mom of the Month, Kelsey Golz
"I haven’t known Kelsey for long, but I’m so glad I’ve gotten the chance to know her! She is so sweet and bubbly and just so fun to be around! She talks to everyone like she’s known them forever. She’s been so consistent with coming to class and she’s been absolutely killing it! I really enjoy seeing her and making great conversation her when instructing. Keep shining bright, Kelsey!"

"Even though Kelsey only joined a few months ago, she’s an integral part of our Fit4Mom family! Her consistency coming to class is inspiring and you can always count on her to lend a helping hand and say hello to everyone with a grin! Her work ethic and strength is so fun and equally inspiring!"

Tell us who makes up your family. Where are you from? What brought you to Pearland?
My little family consists of my husband Sean, our 6 month old Annabelle Grace, and our two dogs Remi and Rue. I grew up in Alvin and Sean grew up in Friendswood, but when we got married, we really wanted to plant our roots somewhere different but still familiar and close to our families. Pearland was a great fit!
What is your proudest mommy moment?
I am so proud and honored to just have the privilege of being a mom, especially when I believe I have been trusted by God to raise His child. That said, there have been many proud mommy moments but my “soft brag” has to be regarding my delivery. When the doctor came in and said it was time to push, she told me it was time to “be athletic”. Okay, challenge accepted! 5 minutes later, Annabelle was out!
What are a few of your favorite things?
I tend to find joy in a lot of things but I do have a few favorites. I love spending time with my family and friends, traveling, cooking and being adventurous! Cheesy as it may be, I do an annual “bucket list” filled with goals to accomplish throughout the year. It has led me to doing everything from going skydiving to hiking the Grand Canyon, riding in a hot air balloon to learning to make cheese, taking a calligraphy class to doing a photoshoot in front of the Eiffel Tower, and everything in between! These lists are my way of putting words into action and holding myself accountable to make the most of the life I’ve been given.
What surprised you most about motherhood? What advice would you give a new mom?
The most surprising thing I have experienced in motherhood is my body’s instincts kicking in to prevent me from gagging and vomiting constantly at all of the “gross” things - haha! I have a very weak stomach and have been known to throw up at just the thought of something so the fact that nothing has caused me to even gag is pretty amazing! My advice to new moms would be to capture all of the moments in your heart. You will never have anyone look at you or need you the way your baby does and that is something to hold dear. I also loved something my mom said to me right after Belle was born - she said the level of dependence our babies have on us is the level of dependence God wants us to have on Him. What a beautiful reminder to find strength in relinquishing control.
What do you love about FIT4MOM? What would you say to a new mom who is thinking about coming to class?
I literally love everything about FIT4MOM! It has been such a blessing to me. After I resigned from my job, I knew I would need to get clicked in somewhere with other mamas. I’ve always loved fitness and so finding a “mommy and me” fitness class seemed like a natural direction to head in but I could not have imagined the village I would find in FIT4MOM. Seriously, these are some of the kindest women I have ever met. Bonus that the workouts are FANTASTIC and allow me to bring my baby around other kids. If you’re thinking about joining, do it! It’s a great way to get out of the house, meet some really nice people and prioritize your health.
