Meet our July Mom of the Month, Katie Hansen!
"Katie is an all around awesome gal! She inspires me every time I’m in her presence. She’s a former run club mama which she dominated and she kills every class she attends. I admire Katie and her strength! Not to mention she’s super sweet and welcomes everyone she meets! I love chatting with her whenever we get the chance. Congratulations, Katie! Can’t wait to get in more runs with you and I’m so glad to have you apart of our village!"- Kristen
"We just love having Katie and Theo in our FIT4MOM Pearland family! She always arrives to class with a smile and it's so nice catching up with her (her beautiful accent is a bonus too!). She works hard at every class and pushes those around her with her energy. We are so glad she joined us!" -Elizabeth
Tell us who makes up your family. Where are you from? What brought you to Pearland?
There's my husband, myself and our little boy Theo. Theo's a born Texan, but my husband and I are British and we moved from London to the US. We've been in Texas for 3 years now and moved here for my husbands work.
What is your proudest mommy moment?
Oh, there's so many! My most recent was nailing the car to crib nap transition - doing that when they're a baby is relatively easy but when they're a toddler that takes great skill!! :)
What are a few of your favorite things?
I like to read, watch movies and binge the latest seasons of my favourite shows. We also like to travel so can't wait to take Theo on some adventures!
What surprised you most about motherhood? What advice would you give a new mom?
That you will just know - mother's intuition is a powerful thing - and while you can read all the books and social media advice, you WILL KNOW what's best for your child. My advice for any new mum is don't forget about you; your focus and energy will be on your new bundle of joy, but always take a moment for yourself.
What do you love about FIT4MOM? What would you say to a new mom who is thinking about coming to class?
I'm so glad I found FIT4MOM. It's a great community and it really helped me when I was at a low point in my postpartum journey. Getting out the house, exercising and meeting other mums has been great and really made me helped me settle into my new life. Any new mom should give it a go - there is no judgement. Be prepared to get your sweat on and make new friends!
